Karbonn S2 Titanium on sale online for Rs 10,790

Yet another Karbonn smartphone has shown up for sale. This time, the Karbonn S2 Titanium phablet has been listed at an online retailer for Rs 10,790. The listing says that the phone will be released on May 14, so deliveries for the S2 Titanium will begin in a week’s time.

Strangely, the listing says the S2 is on pre-order, but you'll have to fork out the entire amount to ‘pre-order’ the smartphone.

The S2 Titanium has a large 5-inch display that has a disappointing resolution of 480x854 pixels. The phablet is powered by an unspecified quad-core processor, clocked at 1.2GHz. There is no information about RAM or internal storage, but a microSD card slot that can support cards up to 32GB in size has been mentioned. One thing that baffles us is that the retailer has photoshopped the Samsung TouchWiz lockscreen on the handset, which we are pretty sure will not be the case on the final device.

Thankfully, in terms of software, the S2 Titanium won’t be bogged down by Ice Cream Sandwich or older Android versions, as it runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. On the back is an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash for low-light shooting, and there’s a 2-megapixel snapper on the front. Like most low-cost Indian smartphones, this one comes with dual-SIM support and dual standby too. The phone should last you for a while as it's powered by a rather large 2,100mAh battery.
