As is the mighty Garuda amongst birds, as is the impregnable fort of Lanka amongst forts and as there is no parallel for the sumeru mountain in this world. As is an ocean amongst ponds, as is a sandlewood forest amongst other forests, so are the Rathores amongst the ruling clans of the world.
Referred to as the 'Bravest of the Brave' by Col. James Tod in his epic 'Annals and Antiquities of Rajasthan', Rathores have time and again proven themselves worthy of such a title. They have historically been called Ranbanka Rathore, the ones who excel in a battle.
